Older subdivisions
- Driveways past their service life
- Settled and heaved interlock
- Original base too shallow for the load
- Drainage running the wrong way
Usually a full rebuild rather than a re-lay.

FOUR40 builds interlocking driveways, walkways, patios and steps across Markham — Unionville, Cachet, Wismer, Cornell, Berczy and Angus Glen — on a 300 mm compacted Granular A base with 80 mm driveway-grade pavers. Free on-site estimates.
In Markham
Markham is our busiest area and it splits neatly into two kinds of job. In the older subdivisions the original driveways are at the end of their life and the base under them was never built for twenty-five years of freeze-thaw. In the newer builds the yard was handed over as bare grade and everything behind the house still has to be built from scratch.
Usually a full rebuild rather than a re-lay.

Working with us
We measure, check drainage and grade, and talk through what you actually want. Free, and no pressure to sign anything.
Scope, materials, base depth and price in writing. You'll know exactly what's included before a shovel moves.
Ontario One Call locates booked, materials ordered, start date confirmed. A realistic window, not an optimistic one.
Excavation, base, compaction, install. Site cleaned at the end of each day — you still have to live there.
We walk it together before final payment. Anything on your list gets fixed, then we're back if settling shows up.
Questions
Replacing a driveway in its existing footprint generally does not need a building permit. Widening it, or cutting a new curb across the boulevard, does need approval from the City of Markham, and the rules on maximum width and how much of the front yard can be hard surface differ between municipalities. We confirm what applies to your address before quoting.
It depends on the season. Spring and early summer are booked over the winter, so a job signed in January is usually in the ground by April. Interior work has much shorter lead times year-round.
No. Markham is inside our normal working radius from Stouffville, which is deliberately kept tight — travel time comes out of the working day, and a contractor who is two hours away is a contractor who does not come back.
Yes. Minor settling in the first season is not unusual and lifting and resetting a small area is straightforward. Being twenty minutes away is the practical reason we can do that.
