Diagnosis
- Where the water goes
- How deep the existing base actually is
- Whether it is one area or the whole surface
- Paver thickness against the load
Free, and sometimes the answer is that a repair is not worth it.

FOUR40 lifts, re-bases and resets sunken or heaved interlock across the GTA, replaces failed edge restraint and re-sands joints with polymeric sand. Often the honest answer instead of a rebuild. Free on-site estimates.
What's included
A settled area of interlock is a base problem showing through the surface. Resetting the pavers without correcting what is underneath means doing it again in two years.
Free, and sometimes the answer is that a repair is not worth it.
Cheap, and it postpones the expensive version.
What it costs
We publish real numbers rather than "it depends" — but only once they're ours to publish. Our written ranges are being finalised; call and we'll give you one over the phone in a minute. What moves the number:
Working with us
We measure, check drainage and grade, and talk through what you actually want. Free, and no pressure to sign anything.
Scope, materials, base depth and price in writing. You'll know exactly what's included before a shovel moves.
Ontario One Call locates booked, materials ordered, start date confirmed. A realistic window, not an optimistic one.
Excavation, base, compaction, install. Site cleaned at the end of each day — you still have to live there.
We walk it together before final payment. Anything on your list gets fixed, then we're back if settling shows up.
Questions
Very often, yes. If the pavers themselves are sound, the affected area is lifted, the base beneath it is corrected and re-compacted, and the same units go back down. It costs a fraction of a rebuild and, done properly, does not come back.
Nearly always the base: too shallow, poorly compacted, or with no separation from the soil beneath. Sometimes it is drainage — water running to the wrong place and washing fines out from under the surface. We work out which before quoting, because fixing the surface without fixing the cause just buys time.
When the whole driveway is moving rather than one area, when the pavers are 60 mm units under vehicle load, or when the base is so thin that lifting one section reveals the same problem everywhere. We will tell you that rather than sell you a repair we expect to be back for.
Re-sanding with polymeric sand and replacing failed edge restraint is the other half of maintenance work, and it is cheap. Open joints and creeping edges are what turn a tidy driveway into a scattered one.
Service area
Close enough to come back if something needs attention — which matters more than it sounds.
