During the build
- Sleeves under driveways and walkways
- Cable runs before base goes down
- Transformer position planned
- Step light housings set into risers
Costs very little now. Costs a lift later.

FOUR40 installs low-voltage landscape lighting across the GTA — step and path lights, uplighting and feature lighting, with cable sleeved during hardscape work rather than retrofitted afterwards. Free on-site estimates.
What's included
Lighting is the cheapest thing to add during a hardscape build and one of the most expensive to add afterwards, because afterwards means lifting what you just paid for.

What it costs
We publish real numbers rather than "it depends" — but only once they're ours to publish. Our written ranges are being finalised; call and we'll give you one over the phone in a minute. What moves the number:
Working with us
We measure, check drainage and grade, and talk through what you actually want. Free, and no pressure to sign anything.
Scope, materials, base depth and price in writing. You'll know exactly what's included before a shovel moves.
Ontario One Call locates booked, materials ordered, start date confirmed. A realistic window, not an optimistic one.
Excavation, base, compaction, install. Site cleaned at the end of each day — you still have to live there.
We walk it together before final payment. Anything on your list gets fixed, then we're back if settling shows up.
Questions
Low-voltage landscape systems sit outside the requirements that govern line-voltage work, which is why we install them ourselves. Anything at 120 V — including the outdoor receptacle the transformer plugs into, if one has to be added — is a Licensed Electrical Contractor's work, under their ESA licence.
While the hardscape is open. Running sleeves and cable during a driveway or patio build costs very little; retrofitting it afterwards means lifting finished work. If lighting is even a possibility, say so at the quote stage.
Less than people expect, and better for it. Steps and level changes for safety, a path edge, one or two trees or architectural features, and the house number. Lighting everything flattens the look and floods the neighbours.
On a timer or photocell, and LED draw is small enough that running cost is not the consideration it once was.
Service area
Close enough to come back if something needs attention — which matters more than it sounds.
