Cleaning
- Washed at sensible pressure
- Weeds and moss cleared
- Stain treatment where possible
- Re-sanding afterwards, always
Washing removes joint sand. Replacing it is part of the job.

FOUR40 maintains hardscape across the GTA — polymeric re-sanding, joint stabilising, sealing and careful pressure washing. Cheap work that postpones expensive work. Free on-site estimates.
What's included
Joints and edges are where a tidy surface starts becoming a scattered one. Maintenance is a small annual or biennial job that meaningfully extends what a driveway or patio gives you.
Washing removes joint sand. Replacing it is part of the job.
Optional, and a commitment once started.
What it costs
We publish real numbers rather than "it depends" — but only once they're ours to publish. Our written ranges are being finalised; call and we'll give you one over the phone in a minute. What moves the number:
Working with us
We measure, check drainage and grade, and talk through what you actually want. Free, and no pressure to sign anything.
Scope, materials, base depth and price in writing. You'll know exactly what's included before a shovel moves.
Ontario One Call locates booked, materials ordered, start date confirmed. A realistic window, not an optimistic one.
Excavation, base, compaction, install. Site cleaned at the end of each day — you still have to live there.
We walk it together before final payment. Anything on your list gets fixed, then we're back if settling shows up.
Questions
Every few years, and sooner on a driveway than a patio. Polymeric sand does wear out of the joints, and open joints let the units move, which is how a tight surface becomes a scattered one. It is a cheap job that postpones an expensive one.
It is optional and it is a real commitment — once sealed, it needs redoing periodically or it looks patchy. Sealing deepens colour, makes cleaning easier and helps with stains. It does not make a poorly built driveway behave.
Accelerates surface scaling, especially on lower-grade units and on concrete. Sand gives grip without the chemistry, and where salt is used, rinsing in spring helps. The most salt-damaged surfaces we see are almost always concrete rather than quality pavers.
At sensible pressure and distance, yes — and it will blast the joint sand out, so plan to re-sand afterwards. Too close and it erodes the surface of the paver itself.
