FOUR40 builds outdoor kitchens, bar counters and fire features across the GTA — on a frost-stable base, with gas work done by a TSSA-registered technician. Free on-site estimates.
What's included
An outdoor kitchen is a small building on a patio. It needs the same base thinking as everything else we build, plus regulated trades for anything that burns.
All three are regulated trades. We coordinate; they certify.
What it costs
We publish real numbers rather than "it depends" — but only once they're ours to publish. Our written ranges are being finalised; call and we'll give you one over the phone in a minute. What moves the number:
Working with us
We measure, check drainage and grade, and talk through what you actually want. Free, and no pressure to sign anything.
Scope, materials, base depth and price in writing. You'll know exactly what's included before a shovel moves.
Ontario One Call locates booked, materials ordered, start date confirmed. A realistic window, not an optimistic one.
Excavation, base, compaction, install. Site cleaned at the end of each day — you still have to live there.
We walk it together before final payment. Anything on your list gets fixed, then we're back if settling shows up.
Questions
A TSSA-registered gas technician, always — gas is a regulated trade and this is the item most commonly overlooked on an outdoor living job. We build the structure, the counters and the surrounds, and the gas work is done and certified by the right trade.
Built properly, yes. That means a frost-stable base under the structure, materials rated for freeze-thaw, water lines that can be drained or are not run at all, and appliances rated for outdoor use. Built on a shallow base, it moves like anything else.
Fewer people use an outdoor sink than expect to, and a water line adds a drain, a winterisation routine and a licensed plumber. Worth being honest with yourself about before committing to it.
Wood-burning is simple and needs clearances. Gas is more convenient and brings the TSSA trade with it. Both need to be sited with real thought about wind, neighbours and where people actually sit.
