Preparation
- Washed and allowed to dry
- Loose and failing coating scraped
- Bare timber primed
- Caulking renewed at joints
- Rot repaired before coating
The whole job, effectively.

FOUR40 paints and stains exteriors across the GTA — siding, trim, doors, fascia, decks and fences, with the washing, scraping and priming that decides how long it lasts. Free on-site estimates.
What's included
Interior paint fails slowly and cosmetically. Exterior paint over poor preparation fails within a season or two, visibly, across a whole elevation.
The whole job, effectively.
We will move the date rather than coat into a cold night.
What it costs
We publish real numbers rather than "it depends" — but only once they're ours to publish. Our written ranges are being finalised; call and we'll give you one over the phone in a minute. What moves the number:
Working with us
We measure, check drainage and grade, and talk through what you actually want. Free, and no pressure to sign anything.
Scope, materials, base depth and price in writing. You'll know exactly what's included before a shovel moves.
Ontario One Call locates booked, materials ordered, start date confirmed. A realistic window, not an optimistic one.
Excavation, base, compaction, install. Site cleaned at the end of each day — you still have to live there.
We walk it together before final payment. Anything on your list gets fixed, then we're back if settling shows up.
Questions
Most exterior products have a minimum application temperature and need it to hold overnight, not just at noon. In this climate that generally means finishing by early autumn. We would rather move you to spring than paint into a cold night and watch it fail.
Washing, yes. Aggressive pressure washing on wood siding, no — it drives water into the substrate and raises the grain. The goal is clean and dry, not blasted.
Freeze-thaw, UV and our humidity swings are hard on coatings. A well-prepped exterior gets several years; a poorly prepped one starts peeling in the first or second. As with interiors, it is a preparation question rather than a paint question.
Technically yes, and think hard first. Painted brick is effectively permanent — removal is difficult and expensive — and it changes how the wall handles moisture. Where the brick is sound, we would usually steer you elsewhere.
Service area
Close enough to come back if something needs attention — which matters more than it sounds.
